Ed is currently retired, helping with the finances of The Berry Patch.

Berrie is the owner of The Berry Patch Preschool.  Our school is 28 years old & began in our home.  We are located in two churches in Edina.  This has been my passion & I now have the gift of being involved, but no longer the responsibility of the day to day operation.

We have 3 grown, married children.

·         Ryan & his wife, Molly, live in Tucson with their daughter, Amelia (9).

·         Molly & her husband, Jeff, live in Minneapolis with their 3 children:  Mackenzie (17), Clara (15) & Bennett (11).

·         Brad & Carrie live in Minneapolis with their 3 children:  Tommy (4), Kate (2) & Charlie (6 months).

We just returned from a wonderful trip to Europe & had the joy of visiting our granddaughter, Mackenzie, who has been studying as a Rotary Exchange Student for her junior year in Como, Italy.

Ed enjoys bike riding, kayaking, reading, travel & exploring new places, antiques, volunteer work in the community & church, summer at the cabin.

Berrie enjoys working with young families helping the parents start their children on the path of becoming life long learners.  Interior decorating, antiques, needlepoint, travel, activities with family & friends, summer at the cabin.

Ed has participated in Youth Works Foundation, volunteer work in the schools, Meals on Wheels, Park Patrol through the Three Rivers Park System & church boards.

Berrie has participated in Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority Alum Organizaion, Junior League, P.E.O. & church boards.

We are both currently serving as Deacons in our church we have been part of since moving to Minneapolis in 1979.  Colonial Church has been an important part of our family's life!

Prior to 1979 we moved often with Ed's work in Packaging:  San Jose, C A - Westminister, CA - Mountain Lakes, NJ - Boston, MA.  We always looked at these moves as an adventure!

July 16th we will celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary.  We have been blessed with a life together rich in relationships with family, friends & great adventure!

We look forward to seeing everyone in August!

Ed was our Best Man 58 years ago.  We have remained in touch for all that time.  Talked with Ed and Berrie recently and knew of her condition.  They had called because my wife, Judy, from Lansing Eastern, who I also had dated in high school, passed away in September so I knew what they were going through. I don't think Ed would have a problem if you published his address for cards of condolences:

Most of us remember the love story between Ed and Berrie Lounsberry.   It started at ELHS and lasted over 60 years.  Sadly Ed just informed me of Berrie's recent passing due to an extended battle with colon cancer.

Berrie was famous for founding a children's pre-school, named Berry Patch which started in her basement and grew to 300 students.   Below is her obituary and a link which shows the growth of her school over the years with many photos of her.
