Scenic View Drive, Suttons Bay, MI 49682  • Email contact:   lokma@netonecom.net  • Phone number (if you want):   231.271.6728 Current life situation (retired working, volunteering, etc.):   I have been retired since 2010 and I am loving it!  I have not found myself to be bored yet.  I love to sew, quilt and knit.  I fill in occasionally at a small yarn shop in town and this feeds my yarn fetish.  I have been fortunate to be able to stay healthy and active.  I enjoy Yoga and hiking and biking.  My husband and I both like to walk and we sail in the summer and snowshoe in the winter.  We love to travel. We have friends in California and take a trip with them every other year.  We both volunteer at community events and on events with our church.    Family history (spouse, children, dogs, etc.):   I am married to Lou.  We met at Calvin College and dated for three years and married after graduation.  I graduated with a degree in Psychology.  I have worked as a Social Worker, mainly in the field of Child Welfare.  Lou is also a Social Worker.  We lived in Grand Rapids for 9 years after we married and then Lou accepted a position as Administrator for a residential treatment center for teen age girls in Traverse City, Michigan.  We moved north in 1976. We feel blessed to be living in “God’s Country” and it has been a wonderful place to raise our three boys.  About ten years they closed the treatment program due to funding issues.  Lou decided to try his hand at real estate and began working for a friend of ours.  He is still at it and enjoys a mostly, “stress free” occupation.  We have three sons.  Matthew was born in 1970.  He is a Middle school math and science teacher in Holland, Michigan.  He is married to Tammy and they have two girls, Elizabeth is 14 and Victoria (Tori) is 12. Our son Thomas was born in 1970.  He is an electrician and owns his own company.  He has two children, Zachery, age 13 and Catherine (Cali), age 12.  Our third son is Michael.  He tagged along in 1982.  He is married to Daniele.  He has a major in ecology and is a Land Management Specialist for Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy.  He and Daniele have a 16 month old daughter named Ruby.  We are on our third dog, a chocolate lab named Sophie.   Claims to fame (books, awards, etc.):   I have few claims to fame.  I have never written a book.  I have raised three great, amazing sons, which is my greatest achievement.  I also have five smart, creative, funny, adorable grandchildren!   Education, Military Service or Training After ELHS:   Calvin College  Major-Psychology   Work History (dates, company name, location, title/job function):    • 1967-1970  D.A.
