Mary Wallace Chamie

Thanks to the Reunion Committee for all their good work.  It was an ambitious project to locate everybody and successfully round us up for a reunion either in person, or electronically.  The Committee’s work has already succeeded in preparing a very enjoyable website and no doubt will also result in a happy reunion for many.   Wishing all of my high school classmates a long life and good health.

I attach two websites that help to summarize where I have been the last fifty years:

On the personal side, I am a mother of three children, happily married to Joseph Chamie whom I met fifty years ago in September 1963 on my first day of college.   We are both demographers who completed our graduate training at the University of Michigan and have spent our careers in international development.  When we retired, Joseph was Director of the Population Division and I was Assistant Director of the Statistics Division at the United Nations, in New York.  We will be married 48 years this August. We have five terrific grandchildren to entertain us.
